Airsoft SAFETY
Note: Failure to follow the recommended safety guidelines can put you in danger of bodily harm. Failure to comply with safety rules will result in ejection from the field.
Personal Safety
1. Eye Protection:
a. Proper eye protection is mandatory at every Death Dealers game and will be worn at all times.
b. All lens and goggles must be ANSI Z87.1-2003 compliant. and form a full seal around the eyes with no gap larger then 1 inch.
c. Shop goggles, non-ANSI-rated / Non Full Face Seal shooting glasses and sunglasses are NOT allowed.
Note: The Death Dealers assumes no liability in the event of an injury caused by the use of improper eyewear.
1. Face protection: Full paintball masks and/or balaclavas can greatly reduce the chance of welts if you are accidentally hit in the face and neck. Outdoor use of full- face protection is not required, but recommended.
2. Hand Protection: The use of gloves (full or fingerless) greatly helps in the reduction of injuries to the hand and fingers.
3. Footwear: Proper footwear is important when playing Airsoft. Tennis shoes and sandals are not acceptable footwear and the player takes all responsibility for injuries due to wearing them. Law enforcement or military boots are highly recommended. Thick wool socks are recommended to protect against blisters.
4. Knee and Elbow Pads: Knee and elbow pads are recommended but not necessary when playing in rugged or hazardous terrain.
General Safety
1. Firearms and explosive materials of any type is strictly prohibited on the Airsoft field.
Anyone found carrying a firearm or any form of explosive will be permanently banned
from attending future Death Dealers games.
2. Do not fire in areas other than designated playing fields. Firing on observers, eliminated players, or any other non-participating individuals or group of individuals is prohibited. Such action shall be grounds for immediate ejection from the field of play, and constitute termination of that player’s activity for that day’s schedule.
3. When in the designated “no fire zones” all weapons should have the safety on and the magazine removed as an extra precaution when the weapon is not in use.
4. Fireworks, pyrotechnics and similar devices are NOT allowed without prior approval
from the Event Organizer, Field Owner or Death Dealers Governing Member. Field owners have the exclusive right to allow, or reject, the use of any pyrotechnic device.
5. Check your weapons and gear for proper functionality before starting play. A player is
personally responsible for his/her equipment, whether it is owned, borrowed, or rented.
If you break or destroy anything, you will be held responsible for any damages.
6. NO BLIND SHOOTING: You need to see your target. Do not blind shoot over or around bunkers/obstacles without seeing what you are shooting at.
7. WILDLIFE, TOWN/LIGHTS, PEOPLE NOT PLAYING, SIGNS, YARD DECORATIONS, CARS, ETC. ARE NOT TARGETS: If you shoot at these objects/persons on purpose you will be asked to leave.
8. NO Alcohol OR DRUGS: Intoxicated guests will not be allowed to play and will be escorted from the premises.
9. Surrender Rule: Any one engaging another within or under 20 Feet will attempt a surrender. This is done by aiming the weapon and yelling “ YOUR HIT YOUR HIT!” loud as possible.
10. Dead Man Rag: The Dead Man Rag is a Red rag of any type carried in the pocket. It will be utilized any time you are hit. Upon calling your hit raise your weapon in the air barrel pointed up, and pull your dead man rag holding it aloft for all to see.
11. Designated Test Fire range will be established before game play, firing of weapons will only take place in the designated Test Fire Range, with appropriate safety measures. I.E. eye protection. Etc.
12. Elimination: The Death Dealers play two different styles of eliminations. A. One shot elimination - A player struck anywhere on their person, including any equipment they are carrying on them (web gear, canteens, ammo pouches, hat, etc.) is considered hit and eliminated from the current game. Gun hits and BBs that ricochet of nearby objects do not count as eliminations (If a BB hits a small twig in front of you and is deflected only a few millimeters and still hits you it is not considered a ricochet and you are eliminated. Please use good judgment). B. Appendage Shots – When a Player is struck in any area other then a vital zone. Vital Zones being Head, Chest, Back, Hips, Buttocks. Non Vital area’s are the Arms and legs, hands and feet. If the player is struck in a non vital area, that area is out of play. So if it’s a leg that is hit the player will have to hop in place or get down on one knee. Same applies for all appendages. Which ever style is to be used will be made clear at the start of the game/skirmish. When hit utilize your dead man rag and call out “HIT!” Loudly raising your weapon muzzle up and hand and walk back to the staging area/respawn area.
13. Seize Fire Rule: Any one at any time for any reason, can call and is required to call a seize fire for any situation deemed unsafe. I.E. Civilians entering the play area during a skirmish.
Weapon Velocity
Airsoft is about trust and honor. The Death Dealers do not feel a chrono is needed at every skirmish or game. If a chrono is available it will be utilized.
